Packing, Relocation & Logistics solution of 4000 Antiquities from 8 locations to the new Jordan Museum location within 5 months.

New Jordan National Museum was built at Ras Al Ain site in the heart of beautiful Amman, accordingly about 4000 antique pieces were selected, with ancient local and international history, to be removed from branch museums present inside the Kingdom to the new Jordan National Museum which was constructed in the form, size and history of these antique beautiful art pieces

Then, tender for packing and removing 4000 antiques pieces from 8 sites inside the Kingdom to the new museum location was awarded to Fils International Packing & Removals Company from among several local and international companies

Antiquities were different in shape, size, length, weight, age and from different ages; they were present in the following areas:

• Jarash
• Irbid
• Karak
• Aqaba
• Petra
• Castle
• Tabarbour
• Um Qais

So, a mechanism was developed as how to deal with antique pieces, where they were wrapped using packing material totally free from any chemicals / Acid free in order not to react with them and cause damages

Also, a mechanism for cooperation with the department of antiquities was laid down as regards how to receive and deliver pieces and in collaboration with competent administrations to provide military security guard escorting the pieces from the 8 branch museums around the hour to the new location to keep the pieces intact

The beginning was from Jarash site and ended in Tabarbour, and it is noteworthy here that at the Castle site the museum was established on the antique pieces, which required using the smallest electric lift in the world and insert it in the Castle museum to carry a statue weighing 1800 kg from pure marble as illustrated in photos

Moreover, packing and removal processes of antique pieces were performed according to official statements by the department of antiquities, and delivered to the national museum by the number and safety

Also, special sponge moulds were produced manually to bundle small vulnerable antique pieces, while fortifying all cartons using shock-insulating materials and special hardened sponge to tolerate external pressure

Furthermore, special technically and mechanically equipped vehicles were used to transfer venerable antique art pieces, for example, absorbers of trucks were changed to tolerate shocks and bumps on the road. Also, carrying box was fortified using shock- absorbing thick spongy materials and plastic floorings to secure and keep the pieces while in transit
